I worked for the UW College of Engineering on a consulting team for Jeweler’s Mutual Insurance. In this role, I led a cross-functional collaboration with insurance teams, data scientists, and researchers to create a model that assessed policy risk.
One of the key achievements was building an XGBoost model that significantly improved Jeweler’s Mutual’s predictive analytics by 7.1%. This optimization enhanced their underwriting process by allowing underwriters to understand the attributes of a policy that the model identifies as risky.

In this role, I worked on the Chase Travel product for the Focused Analytics Solution Team (FAST). As interns, we were tasked with analyzing customer behavior for users interacting with a travel guide tool similar to Expedia.
To accomplish this task, we followed an analytical plan that analyzed over 20 million user journeys using SQL. We built conversion metrics that allowed leadership to identify pain points for customers. Additionally, we used Python to measure the retention rates of customers, evaluating over $1 billion in transactions.
Ultimately, our analysis had a significant impact, leading the leadership to conclude that the tool had reached the end of its lifecycle. As a result, it was decided to phase it out.

Technology Development intern
In this role, I worked on the Cyber Security Team within Optum (a UnitedHealth Group subsidiary). As interns, we were tasked with creating dashboards in Tableau for leadership to monitor cyber response team KPIs.
To accomplish this task, our intern team created over 20 custom graphs using various data sources. We regularly met with different teams across the business to understand their input, ultimately creating dashboard products that catered to all teams. Additionally, I was responsible for the UX/UI design of the dashboards, which leadership standardized throughout the security operations center.
